I moved to Hattiesburg 4 years ago and started my academic and athletic career at Southern Miss. When I wasn't playing volleyball, I would volunteer at Southern Pines Animal Shelter. Southern Pines allowed opportunities for volunteers to connect and enrich the shelter animals lives by engaging in activities such as Dogs Day Out or fostering a companion for the weekend.
On February 10, 2024 I was volunteering at Southern Pines and met a little Husky puppy that I instantly fell in love with. After careful consideration I decided to adopt her. I named her Delta after the velociraptor in Jurassic World (A fitting name since she can sometimes be a terror ;)). Delta has become my best friend and in the one year I've had her she's already become a part of my support system. I want to give back to the organization that has done so much for me and the stray animals of Hattiesburg. I will complete the Hattiesburg 10K on April 5, 2025 and my goal is to raise $800 to donate to Southern Pines Animal Shelter.
