Charity Runner

  1. What is a charity runner?
A charity runner is a registered race participant who chooses to fundraise on behalf of one of the 7 non-profits participating in the Hattiesburg Half Marathon. As a charity runner, you have the ability to form an alliance with the 501(c)3 of your choosing and provide financial and social engagement support. Not up for running? That's okay! Choose the charity cheerleader option to simply fundraise for your favorite charity during the race promotional period!

  2. Are there extra fees?
There are no extra fees during registration if you choose to be a charity runner. So, why not sign-up?

  3. What do I have to do?
The most important part of this opportunity is your support. By choosing to become a charity runner, you are committing your time, fundraising efforts and personal allegiance to the charity’s mission. When you cross the finish line, know that your support of the race will provide significant support to organizations that transform lives in the Pine Belt.

You select your fundraising goal. No goal is too big or too small. Sharing your story with social media followers and others will help you reach your goals and, ultimately, help your selected charity meet their financial goals to fulfill their mission.

  4. I’m in! What’s next?
Registering is easy! Choose a non-profit that is meaningful to you, register using the Charity Runner category for your race of choice, then set your personal fundraising goal!

  5. I’m registered. What can I do to meet my goal?
Once you have completed your charity runner registration, share your goal, the non-profit’s mission or a personal testimony about why you are supporting your non-profit on social media!

You can also share social media posts from your selected charity to inform others.

Challenge your followers to donate – every dollar counts and builds toward meeting your fundraising goals.
