Join me in supporting Mile in My Shoes!
I’m thrilled to be FundRacing for the fourth year in a row with MiMS! I first found out about this organization when I set a goal to run a half marathon- my first official race and something I never thought I’d be able to do. I learned (1) that I am capable of way more than I thought and (2) it’s way easier when you have something bigger driving you.
Four years later, Mile in My Shoes continues to be a huge motivation for me. Every day I am reminded what a privilege it is for me to move freely through space - how lucky I am to have the gear, time and support to take that extra hour to clear my mind focus on my health.
Even more, I am inspired every single day by the people I meet through MiMS. Our Members, facing some of the toughest periods of their lives, show up committed to make a change. To prove to themselves that they too are capable of more than they imagined. Our Mentors - driven often by their own lived experiences - run right alongside, cheering because they know things can get brighter with every step taken together. Our FundRacers, inspired by these stories pour their hearts into making sure we have the funds to welcome more Members who will get the opportunity to be a part of this magic.
Please help me by making a donation of any amount in support of this work. Gifts of all sizes go directly toward providing running gear, race entries, and community-building events for our team members. Click here to learn more about the impact your support has on MiMS' Members.
More about Mile in My Shoes
MiMS brings together residents of the Twin Cities with diverse backgrounds through the power of running. Based in homeless shelters, addiction recovery programs and re-entry centers for people exiting incarceration, Mile in My Shoes views running as a tool for both personal and collective transformation. By centering people and spaces historically excluded by the running community, our teams use movement as a catalyst for social justice. By bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, our Resident Members and Run Mentors not only find common ground, but learn from and reach out to one another for support. As we transform ourselves, we transform one another, and we transform our communities.
Our Mission: We run together to transform ourselves, one another, and our community.
Our Vision: Mile in My Shoes uses the power of running to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to build connections, boost wellness, spark social change, and center people traditionally excluded from running spaces.
