Join me in supporting Mile in My Shoes!
This is my second year being a run mentor for Mile in My Shoes (MiMS) and I continue to be inspired by all of the amazing people in the MiMS community. MiMS is all about using the power of running to improve ourselves, others, and the community. It is about bringing people from diverse backgrounds together to build connections. We run with people in recovery programs, people experiencing housing instability, and people exiting incarceration.
One of my favorite highlights of the program is seeing people grow, change, and push themselves beyond what they think is possible. The support and sense of community from everyone involved is amazing. Many of our resident members from last year have returned as mentors this year. One of our current mentors said, "I want to give back all that I gained from the program last year. Being a mentor is a way that I can give back."
I’m excited to run the Mile in My Shoes' (MiMS) "Downtown Run Around" 5K race on June 7. Between now and then, I’ll be raising money as a FundRacer to support Mile in My Shoes programming. Please consider donating to support this fantastic program.
Donations of all sizes go directly toward providing running gear, race entries, and community-building events for our team members. FundRacers have a collective goal of raising $25k to bring the transformative power of running to even more people experiencing homelessness, in recovery and exiting incarceration.
