Kelly Normand and her husband John have long been believers in adopting rescue and shelter animals, and currently have 3 cats and a yellow lab, Bonnie, whom they adopted from a Mississippi rescue and are working on becoming a therapy dog. Kelly has volunteered for hundreds of hours with a local rescue, is also a cat foster and dog walker for the shelter, and sometimes takes dogs out for a short break from shelter life.
Kelly is a long-time supporter of Friends because of all the good they do to help shelter animals with everything from medical care, to becoming more adoptable through training, and especially the TNR programs to help cut down on the population of feral cats. Kelly would often "sponsor" an animal that had been in the shelter for a long time, so Friends could highlight them on their Facebook page and help find them their home faster. The love of a pet is priceless, especially in times of need, and she likes how Friends helps pets stay with their owners who may need temporary help.
