The East Providence Police Department SRT displays the phrase - "Honora Vocationem Tuam" or "Honor Your Calling". "Honor your calling" refers to living a life that aligns with your purpose, making choices that reflect your values and goals, and using your talents in your daily conduct and when making difficult choices. For SRT that means exercising a higher level of thought, selflessness, and control in every situation and prioritizing the lives of our community before ourselves.
Honoring a calling comes in many forms. Not only dedicating your career and sacrifice to the community we represent, but also honoring those first responders and military who choose to honor their calling in our neighboring communities.
We strive each day to strengthen our team and work together as one to be prepared to protect our community and represent out community in best way possible.
"Build a team so strong that no one can point out the leader.
Real leadership is not about barking orders or standing in the spotlight. It's about creating a culture where everyone moves with purpose, takes ownership, and shines in their own right. When the vision is clear and the standard is respected, the whole team carries the brand with pride.
Egos kill progress. Alignment builds empires. Put the right people in the right positions, empower them, and watch as the mission becomes unstoppable. When everyone is locked in, there is no weak link. Just a unit that moves as one."
For this challenge the EPPD SRT will be donating to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a charitable organization, who highlights Firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller who sacraficed his life by honoring his calling during 9/11.
Tunnel to Towers Foundation writes;
"Since 9/11, we have been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. We are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001."
Please help us in honoring our calling during this BFit event, and supporting those fallen first responder and military families by donating to our team in support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
