I will be participating in the BFit Challenge in memory and honor of my brother, CSM (Ret) William “Bill” Giovaniavic Venus, who we lost to the Texas Flash Floods on 7/5/2025.
It’s incredibly difficult to write in this moment, as I still grieve the loss of someone so central to my life. Bill was the best of us—he lived a life guided by compassion, humility, and the kind of quiet strength that lifts others without needing recognition.
My brother was a military hero who serviced this country for 30 years, retiring at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. While in the military he participated in a number of over sea operations and received numerous awards.
Just like many veterans Bill fought to stay strong as he battled PTSD; no matter how bad it got he knew with God’s love he would be okay. I can remember him telling me how grateful he was for the team at the VA who continually worked with him when he went through these battles/fights.
Each time he returned from one of these battle/fights he wanted me to know how important programs like The Wounded Warrior and Home Base are to veterans. We had discussed him joining me in participating in the BFit Challenge at the TD Garden to help raise funds for these programs. However, he was taken way too soon.
In honor of him, I will be participate this year and future years in memory of him at the BFit Challenge.
I am hoping that I can receive your support through a donation toward my goal this year. Thank you in advance for your support.
