Dr. Julie Crutchfield is the Chief Learning Officer at the Air Force Special Operations Air Warfare Center. She monitors the curriculum status of 250 courses and faculty qualifications of over 500 instructors Julie is Air Force Special Operations Command’s (AFSOC) voting member on the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Affiliated Schools Advisory Panel and currently chairs the panel.  She represents all commands, other than AETC, on CCAF’s Policy Council and is designated as AFSOC’s lead to United States Special Operations Command for Education.

Julie is a retired Chief Master Sergeant who spent over 24 years in the Air Force.  She began her career in Aerospace Physiology and then cross-trained into the Education and Training Career Field.  Her final assignment was as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute at Patrick AFB. FL.  Her highest award is the Defense Superior Service Medal.

Julie holds 12 college degrees including four Associate of Applied Science degrees from CCAF, three Baccalaureate degrees, three Masters degrees and an Education Specialist degree. She completed her Doctorate of Education at Campbell University, in Buies Creek, NC, as a Technical Sergeant assigned to Pope AFB.
