Journey Walk Information
What is the JOURNEY WALK???
This JOURNEY WALK will begin with you carrying a weighted bag (which represents a cancer diagnosis) the duration of the course. Throughout this JOURNEY, you'll have opportunities to (temporarily) set your bag down, get relief from the American Cancer Society and learn about what we do to help cancer patients while they're on their JOURNEY. As participants cross the finish line, they will not only get to drop their weight, but will RING THE BELL to signify 'treatment' is over.

STOP 2 – Hope Lodge
Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. This can place an extra emotional and financial burden on patients and caregivers during an already challenging time. The American Cancer Society is trying to make this difficult situation easier for both cancer patients and their families through our lodging programs.
STOP 3 – Road to Recovery

The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery® program eases your burden by giving free rides to cancer-related medical appointments. Our trained volunteer drivers are happy to pick you up, take you to your appointment, and drop you off at home. All for free and all to make your days a little easier. Not having a ride shouldn’t stand between you and lifesaving treatment.
STOP 4 – Caregiver Relief
You’re able to drop your weight.

Learn about how the American Cancer Society can help your caregivers HELP you.
The caregiver will carry your bag to the next stop at which point, you’ll take it from there.
STOP 5 – Reach To Recovery
For more than 50 years, the American Cancer Society Reach To Recovery® program has been helping people cope with their breast cancer experience – as early as the first possibility of a diagnosis and continuing for as long as breast cancer remains a personal concern to them.

We have flexible volunteer opportunities with very little time commitment, and more involved positions that allow you to make a larger impact.
STOP 8 – JOIN the Fight & VOLUNTEER
