2020 Anchorage RunFest is CANCELLED!

To all runners registered for any race distance at the 2020 Anchorage RunFest:

This is not the news that we wanted to share with our running community, but due to escalating conditions surrounding the COVID-19.  The Board of Directors of the Anchorage Running Club and Anchorage RunFest Race Directors have made the extremely difficult decision to CANCEL the 2020 RunFest. We know this news is disappointing and we’re disappointed too!

We believe this is the responsible action to take in during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our runners, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators remains our highest priority and keep our community as safe as possible. We are extremely grateful for all our supporters during these unprecedented and challenging times and ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters. We hope you continue your training in a way that is safe and follows local COVID-19 guidelines, support each other and support our community in every way possible.

As a small Anchorage non-profit organization, we pride ourselves on hosting a world-class event amidst the world renown Alaskan beauty every year with the assistance of our sponsors and community. In order to preserve our ability to continue to provide this unique RunFest experience to the running community for years to come, we must uphold our no refund policy. The time and effort that goes into planning for race weekend are well underway and a sizable portion of our expenditures have already been incurred. If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact info@anchoragerunningclub.org.

We are offering 2 OPTIONS for you to move forward with your registration:

Option 1, Deferral: Defer your full entry fee to the 2021 Anchorage RunFest. Deferrals must be submitted by July 15, 2020. You may submit your deferral request by answering the survey questions found BELOW!

OR

Option 2, Donation: You can donate your Event Entry fee by selecting that option on the Survey found BELOW!

As an Alaskan nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status, please know that your donation of your race fee will help ensure that our organization can continue to provide a world-class experience to the running community for years to come. Events are expensive, even when cancelled, and donating your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

Looking ahead, we sincerely hope you are able to join us next year on August 21-22, 2021! The 2021 Anchorage RunFest will provide a celebratory occasion to be grateful for partaking in a sport that endures difficult circumstances and will come back from this crisis even stronger.
