Turnagain Training kids triathlon camps is geared towards kids having fun while participating in biking and running through out the week! Camp goes Monday-Friday 12-4pm daily. Campers will meet in the Kincaid Chalet parking lot in the corner near the wooden bridge. Camp is focused on biking skills (shifting, cornering, biking up hills successfully, etc.), running games and activities, transition practice & more fun games! From 2-2:30pm there is snack and have some down time (kids bring their own snacks and water, per health mandates), where we talk about different topics within triathlon like what to pack for a race, how to get to the Olympics or what the top 10 things you would want if you were a triathlete. This camp is geared towards kids loving the sport of triathlon.

-A social distancing camp that is fun, outdoors and lead by top triathlon

-Tastee Freeze Ice cream on Friday (TENTATIVE)
Beginner/Intermediate Triathletes: Need to have the basic fundamentals of biking without training wheels. Ideally, your child would have a bike with gears too so they can practice shifting and are able to successfully make it up a hill. IF you don't have a bike with gears, ask a friend or neighbor if you can borrow their bike for the week, kids learn FAST how to ride on another persons bike. All of our running is short, geared to fun, creative ways so that the kids do not realize they're running long, think scavenger hunt, checklists, etc. Lastly, we do A LOT of transition practice so that kids are able to put their shoes and socks on on their own come race day without a parents help (YES, THEY CAN!!). In order for kids to be more successful, consider sending them to camp with elastic shoe laces (sold at Trek, REI, Skinny Raven, usually $7), velcro shoes work well too.
Advanced Triathletes: This is a camp for kids that have attended triathlon camp before or are experienced in swimming, biking & running at the competitive level. These kids will have gear shifting bikes and be very comfortable riding in a group at faster speeds. This triathlete will also enjoy running a mile with minimal breaks and hopes to gain endurance. If you are unsure if your child is appropriate at advanced triathlon camp, feel free to email Coach Heather at Heather@Turnagaintraining.com. Campers that sign up for this camp and realize at the 1st day of camp that this camp is not appropriate for them will be asked to move to a beginner/intermediate camp, if spots are still available.
