Challenge Description
Get ready for the fifth annual Moose Loop Trail Challenge—your summer-long excuse to explore Anchorage’s amazing urban trails that (yes, really!) loop around the city in the shape of a moose!
Whether you run, walk, bike, or roll, this un-timed, all-ages, all-abilities adventure is your chance to enjoy the great outdoors at your own pace—on the Moose Loop in Anchorage or wherever you are. It’s not just a celebration of trails, it’s a feel-good fundraiser for the Anchorage Park Foundation, and the perfect way to stay active and connected all summer long.
Choose your challenge and complete your distance anytime between August 23–30. Registration is just $35 for adults, and kids under 18 participate for free! Participants receive a digital race bib and fun trail-themed swag.
New this year: A limited-edition, moose-themed shirt will be available for purchase—perfect for showing off your Anchorage trail pride!
🚴 Join the fun in person! Kick off the Challenge with an optional ~10-mile group ride on Saturday, August 23 from 12:00–2:30 PM, starting at Westchester Lagoon. The ride will be led by Diana Rhoades of the Anchorage Park Foundation, and it’s a great way to connect with fellow participants and celebrate our incredible trail system together! Email Diana@AnchorageParkFoundation.org to join the group ride.
We are incredibly grateful to our event sponsors, whose generous support makes this event possible and helps ensure that Anchorage’s trails remain a vital, vibrant part of our community.
So grab your gear, rally your crew, and join the fun—the 2025 Moose Loop Trail Challenge is calling!
