The Bill Mitchell Fun Run has been a Palmer community event for years. The run was originally organized by Bill Mitchell who believed  in leading an active life. Although he recently passed away, we will continue on this year in memory of him as the Bill Mitchell Memorial Run. 

 

A Little About Bill Mitchell:

Bill Mitchell was a World War ll Veteran who served in the Pacific. He was an advocate and supporter of the Mat-Su Valley throughout the years especially when it came to running and events promoting a healthy lifestyle. So, lace up your shoes and come enjoy the day with your family and friends by getting outdoors. 

 

Races:

There will be a 4ish mile run and a Kids 1 Mile

 

4ish Mile Course Description:

A map will be provided at the start.
The race will start at the Colony Inn this year. Runners will make their way to S Gulkana St. and take a right onto E Evergreen, take a left onto Airport Rd, a right onto E Artic Ave (bike path). Runners will go underneath the bridge tunnel and make their way to the Mat Su River Park Trail. At the end of the short trail, runners will turn around and make their way back to the Colony Inn following the same paths/roads. 

 

Kids 1 Mile:

The kids1 mile will not be timed, however they will receive a race bib.

 

Bib Pickup:

June 11th, 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Colony Inn

 

Day of Registration:

June 11th, 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Colony Inn

 

T-Shirt: 

Everyone will receive a t-shirt!
