15th Annual Spring Scramble 5K

On May 15th, the UAB Pediatrics Residency Program/Children's of Alabama will host the 15th Annual Spring Scramble 5K Road Race. We are excited for the return of this annual tradition after pausing last year's event due to the global pandemic! Race registration begins at 5 p.m., and the race will start promptly at 5:30 p.m. This year, in an effort to comply with CDC social distancing standards, we will also have a Virtual 5K race option (t-shirt included)!

The race will be followed by music, games, and raffle prizes! Medals will be awarded by age group.

The Spring Scramble helps promote the health and well-being of the Birmingham area's children. This year, the funds will go toward our resident-run community outreach and advocacy organization, the Coat of Arms. The group's efforts are numerous including: local health fairs, Reach Out and Read, infant safe sleep initiatives, and holiday gift drives. Funds help to provide much-needed items such as books and helmets to our patients in primary care settings.

We will host an optional ($5) post-race pizza party at the finish line with Dave's Pizza. Grab a slice, you earned it!

*Race packets can be picked up at Trak Shak on Friday, May 14th from 1-5pm or on race day starting at 3pm.
