Description
We are thrilled to celebrate the amazing girls in our Spring 2024 program and the wonderful community that supports them at the annual Girls on the Run Birmingham 5K Tutu Run!
The event will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 8:00am. The course begins and ends at Patriot Park in Homewood, AL a suburb just south of Birmingham just off I-65. The address is 710 Oak Grove Rd, Homewood, AL 35209.
This event is not competitive. While you can check your times, no winners will be announced nor will awards be given. This event is open to the public and we encourage all in the community to participate - you can run, walk or skip! The morning festivities are centered around more than 160 elementary school girls across the Birmingham region that are celebrating the completion of the Spring 2024 season of Girls on the Run by completing this celebratory 5K. Program participants will not be chip timed.
Costumes (and tutus, of course!) are encouraged. Tutus will be available for sale at registration.
Look for signs of encouragement along the course and a water stop approximately halfway through the race. We are so excited to see all the joyful, healthy and confident girls of the GOTR Spring 2024 program succeed, and we want you to join us in celebrating them!
CANCELLATION STATEMENT: This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds. Registration fees will be considered a donation to Girls on the Run Birmingham.
T-Shirts
Short sleeve, super soft t-shirts are included with registration.
Unisex Sizes YS/ YM / YL / S / M / L / XL / XXL are available.
PLEASE NOTE: Register by Friday, April 12, 2024 to be guaranteed your preferred t-shirt size.
Packet Pick Up
**If you are running with a girl in the Spring 2024 GOTR program, you DO NOT need to come to packet pick up. Your shirt and bib will be with your girl's team on Saturday morning.**
Otherwise, t-shirt's and race bib's can be picked up at The Trak Shak in downtown Homewood (2839 18th St S, Birmingham, AL 35209) on Friday, April 26 from 11am-6pm.
You will also be able to pick your packet up on race day but please plan to arrive early.
Race Day Directions and Parking
If you use Google Maps or another online map to find Patriot Park, please use the following address: 710 Oak Grove Rd. Homewood, AL 35209. In addition to street parking, parking will be available at the Patriot Park Pool parking lot (800 Oak Grove Rd. Homewood, AL 35209). Please note that if you are parked in the public parking spaces off of the street adjacent to the park, you may be blocked in until the end of the race. Accessible parking is available at the Patriot Park Pool parking lot.
