Race Canceled

Hello Racers,

We’re sincerely sorry to share that due to severe weather conditions forecasted for this weekend, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming Build N Run 5K. We know this is disappointing news, and we share in your frustration. Many of you have been training and looking forward to this event, and we were excited to cheer you on at the starting line. We hope that, at some point in the future, we can make this event happen and look forward to your participation then.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at David.Ivester@highlandbaptist.com.

Sincerely,
David Ivester
Student Pastor

Description

Join Highland Baptist Church in Florence, AL, on Saturday, April 26th at 8:30 am as we sponsor the Build N Run 5k and Fun Run. This race will benefit Sleep In Heavenly Peace. SHP is a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor. All proceeds will go to SHP to help them build beds so no child has to sleep on the floor. During this time, we will have a 5k and a fun run; the 5k will start at 8:30 am; please arrive by 8:00 am to get set for the race; the 5k will have an hour course limit. The fun run will start at 10:00 am and have a thirty-minute course limit. If participating in the 5k, you can run, walk, or ruck the race. We’re excited to offer the Rucking Division for this race. For those new to the concept, rucking involves walking or hiking with a weighted pack. The term comes from the military word “Rucksack,” meaning “Backpack". Please register for the run or walk division if you plan to walk.

Weight Requirements:

Over 150lb: 20lb dry weight
Under 150lb: 10lb dry weight

Weigh-ins will occur 30 minutes before the race start

If racing is not your thing, you can volunteer for our bed build that will happen simultaneously with our 5k and Fun Run. You can register for that via this link: Volunteer Registration
