Pill Hill 10K
Description
We are excited to bring back an oldie but goodie the infamous Pill Hill 10k Run. This Huntsville classic race hasn't been run since 2003 and we couldn't be happier to bring back such an iconic race. The Pill Hill 10K is one of the most beautiful and challenging road races in the Southeast. The race is run in the Greenwyche pool neighborhood utilizing all of the great hills around the Drake and Garth Road intersection. The race will be a fundraiser for the Huntsville Police Department with 100% of the proceeds going to the HPD Citizens Foundation Fund. The Citizens Foundation Fund was created to support fallen Officer’s families, Officer’s in need of Medical or Mental Health issues and the HPD Memorial. Our goal is to raise community awareness of the issues Officers face on a daily basis during their line of duty and in particular the impact on their Mental Health.
OVERVIEW
FOR 2026 ONLY! This year's Pill Hill 10K will be zero frills (no shirts, no medals) and be 100% FREE. Tell your running buddies, co-workers, grandma, tell them all. With some scheduling uncertainties we weren't sure if this race would take place in 2026 but we have the green light and while we're past the deadline for t-shirts and medals, the show must go on and in 2027 we'll have a more concrete date we'll try to stick to for future years.
This race has always been 100% charity and all the proceeds go towards the HPD Citizens Foundation Fund. The Citizens Foundation Fund was created to support fallen Officer’s families, Officer’s in need of Medical or Mental Health issues and the HPD Memorial. We are leaving the Donation Tab open to give, all monies will be given to the HPD Citizens Foundation Fund. Please note that if you cannot give, you of course can still race!

There are no refunds, credits or family transfers on entries. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event as left over shirts are donated.
SHIRTS & AWARDS & CUTOFFS
In 2026 the Pill Hill 10K will be FREE. There will be no shirt or medal for 2026.
Age group awards will be RunningLane gift cards to our new store! 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
Along with overall male, female and male masters (40+) and female masters (40+)
The course time limit is 2 hours which works out to be 19:15/ mile pace

Packet pickup will be on Friday June 26th, 2026 at RunningLane from 11am-5pm.

The course will be certified. It's fast and flat, one of the most epic courses in the Southeast! Big climbs, beautiful views and so much glory!
