Starting Monday, April 19t through Friday, May 7th, 2021 the Maxwell AFB SAPR Program is hosting a virtual 5k walk/run in observance of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM). The theme this year is "Protecting Our People, Protects Our Mission". This event is free of charge and is meant to reinvigorate the efforts of Team Maxwell-Gunter to stand together in the fight against all forms of sexual violence. Due to continued COVID restrictions and concern for the health of our force, this year's event will be virtual. By participating virtually, you can choose your own 5K course and complete the distance when it is convenient for you.
What is A Virtual Race?
For years, many races have offered a virtual walker/runner option that fostered participation and support of the race regardless of location. Participants can sign up for the race, as well as post their times online after completing the 5k.
How to Participate in the Maxwell-Gunter AFB SAAPM Virtual 5K:
Step 1: Register to run or walk the virtual 5k at runsignup.com.
Step 2: Tell your friends, family, and co-workers about the race and explain why it is important to you. Invite them to sign up and run/walk with you.
Step 3: Join your fellow runners and walkers anytime from 19 April until 7 May. Lace-up your running shoes and remember that together we can foster a climate of dignity and respect for all.
