Description
The 42nd Annual White River Four Mile Classic Road Race
The race is under the direction of the White River Roadrunners, a running club that serves the runners of North Arkansas.
Parking
There is ample parking in the area. Parking lots will be marked with signs. (You may park in the following parking lots: Municipal Building, First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, etc.)
Start/Finish
The race begins and ends at the intersection of East Main and Fifth Street near downtown Batesville.
Start Time
In order to minimize contact among the runners we will be doing a staggered start beginning at 8:00 AM. Runners may start anytime at their discretion between 8:00 and 8:15 AM.
Timing
Chip timing will be provided by Mac’s Timing Service.
The Route
The route has been changed to a circular route to avoid face to face runner encounters along the course. The course is about 5% long due to this change. The route is not closed to vehicular traffic.
Race Route
Awards
No Awards Ceremony! Due to the restrictions on large groups there will be no age group awards this year. Plaques will be awarded for 1st Place Male and Female runners and 1st Place Male and Female runners in the Masters division.
Packet Pick Up
Early Packet Pick Up will be at the Natural State Running Store located at 148 E Main Street in downtown Batesville on Friday, 10/23, 1PM - 8PM. Thursday pick up was cancelled due to delays in receiving our hoodies.
Race Day packet pickup will be held at the Batesville Municipal Building starting at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning.
Registration
Cost: $30 until 10/15/20 (includes hoodie)
$20 after 10/15/20 (No hoodie)
Register by 10/15/2020 to receive another great 4 Mile Classic Hoodie. Registrations received after that date will not receive a hoodie due to time constraints required to order and produce them so register early! All runners will receive a custom printed neck gaiter.
Registration ends Wednesday 10/22/20.
No Race Day Registration is available.
Cancellation Policy
If the race is cancelled all entries will be deferred to the 2021 race. Sorry, no refunds.

Due to Covid restrictions the city cannot allow us use of the Municipal Building restrooms as in the past. There will be portable toilets and hand wash stations in the Municipal Building parking lot.

ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY
ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY
We expect our events to happen rain or shine. No one, including the Race Director, wants to make changes to an event on race day. However, the safety of our participants is of paramount concern. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the Race Director, in communication with the local law enforcement and the city, may delay the event, cancel the event, or make changes to the race course.
DEFINITION OF ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
The event may be delayed or canceled due to Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, Heavy Rain, or any other extreme weather condition. Light to moderate rain is not considered an Adverse Weather Condition.
COMMUNICATION
If the event is canceled more than 12 hours before the event, we will notify participants via the race website, email and social media. If the event is canceled less than 12 hours before the event we will notify participants via the race website and social media. Participants will be notified via email where they can pick up their race packets if they have not already done so.
REFUNDS
Refunds are not issued for events canceled for Adverse Weather Conditions as the funds for the event have already been spent in preparation for race day.
