First Day 5K Fun Run/Walk/Hike

Kick off the new year the healthy way and join thousands across the nation who will be hitting the trails for First Day hikes, walks, jogs, rides, and runs! Join park staff and visitors at DeGray Lake Resort State Park for a fun 5K run/walk/hike along a mixed surface course split evenly between trail and road. For the goal-oriented folks out there, we issue the "2022 Challenge" - complete the course in under 20 minutes 22 seconds! Special brownie points, gold stars, and high fives will be awarded to any who succeed!

Enjoy beautiful views of nature in winter as you traverse two of the state park's five trails through mixed pine forest and along the shoreline of scenic DeGray Lake, one of Arkansas's five diamond lakes. After the race, gather with your friends and fellow runners/walker/hikers around a post-run campfire to warm up (after your cool down) and enjoy some fellowship and beautiful lake views.
