Description

Experience the best of downtown Little Rock through Arkansas' oldest 10K!  Once the largest road race in Arkansas, the Capital City Classic 10K is back on its way to the top!  The event moved back to downtown Little Rock in 2022, and while the 2023 race had to be cancelled due to a tornado, we came back as strong as ever in 2024 and continued to grow in 2025!  From a free Kids' Mile, to prize money for elites, to a 10K pace team that ranges from 45 minutes to a "Party Pace" group of 2 hours, this is truly a race for everyone!  Participants of all abilities are welcome, including walkers.

More information about the race and its storied history can be found at https://www.littlerockroadrunners.com/capital-city-classic-10k/.

Kids 1 Mile Race

We offer a FREE Kids' 1 Mile Race immediately before the start of the Capital City Classic 10K at 7:30 AM. The course is an out-and-back route of approximately one mile that takes participants across the iconic Broadway Bridge, which will be closed to vehicle traffic for the event.

Registration is open to children 14 years old and younger, and parents are welcome to run or walk alongside their child as needed. Every participant will receive a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal.

Course Note: While the official course distance is approximately one mile, younger participants may choose to turn around earlier if needed. In some circumstances, race officials may also direct participants to turn around early to ensure the Kids' Race concludes in time for the start of the 10K at 8:00 AM.

Elite Athlete Program

The Capital City Classic attracts elite talent from across the region and beyond.  There will be a total prize purse of at least $7,000 (amount to be finalized by January 2027), with prize money award to the top five overall male and female finishers.  Complimentary entries and potential travel assistance are available to men that have recently demonstrated the ability to run sub-31:00 and women sub-37:00

Interested athletes can contact Brent Corbitt, Assistant Race Director and Elite Athlete Coordinator, at capitalcityclassic10k@gmail.com.

Finisher Medals

Every participant in both the Kids' Mile and the Capital City Classic 10K will earn a finisher medal to commemorate their accomplishment!

A huge thank you to Kinco Constructors, our returning Medal Sponsor, for making this tradition possible once again. Their continued support helps ensure that every runner and walker, from our youngest participants to our 10K finishers, has a special keepsake to celebrate race day.

Last year's medal is shown below, while the design for the 2027 finisher medal will be unveiled in late 2026.  Stay tuned for a first look at this year's collectible medal!

Hotel Block

**Information related to hotel blocks will be coming soon.

Pace Team

We're one of the only 10k races out there that has a pace team to help you achieve your goals!  The 2027 race will feature pace groups ranging from 45 minutes to our "Party Pace" group that will take up to 2 hours. We have great teams setup that will not only potentially help you achieve a time goal, but will encourage, create camaraderie and add a lot of fun to the race!

Course Map

The race starts at Markham and Broadway and the finish line is at Capitol and Louisiana.  There's about a 1/2 mile between the two spots and free parking is readily available downtown in and around these areas.

Spectator Course

For those that aren't participating in the Capital City Classic, but want to be part of the action, we have an unofficial “spectator course” of less than a mile that allows you to see the runners at the start, finish and two different spots in between!

- Start at Markham and Broadway and watch the start of the race at 8am

- Walk 5 blocks east down Markham to Scott St to catch the runners just before the 2 mile mark.

- Head to Main and 6th which is about 4.5 miles into the race.

- Lastly walk a couple blocks to the finish area at Capitol and Louisiana.

Packet Pickup

Packets will be available for pickup from 10 AM to 6PM on Thursday, March 25th and Friday, March 26th at Rock City Running.  We highly encourage participants to pick up their package in the two days before the race, but pickup will also be available on race day beginning at 6:15 AM.

Arkansas Grand Prix

The Capital City Classic 10k is part of the Arkansas Grand Prix, which is a series of 20 races across the state.  We highly recommend race participants check out more information about the series and its races at the following link: https://arkrrca.com/
