Description
Ponca, Arkansas; June 29, 2019—The
Jasper/Newton County Kiwanis is offering a unique
experience—the opportunity to compete in a 5K race with the chance of viewing elk herds for
which the Boxley Valley has become known, enjoying the beauty of the Boxley Valley, and hanging
out at the 20th Annual Buffalo River ElkFest, all while helping the youth of Newton County.
Registration and check -in will begin at 7 a.m. the morning of
June 23
Across from the Lost Valley Store on beautiful
Highway 43 in Ponca, AR.
Run/Walk will begin at
8 a.m.
sharp. Kid’s dash at 8:10
Prizes will be given for the following:
Overall first place male and
female runner and oldest runner.
Costs:
$25 for pre -registrants
$30 for registrants the day of the race
Each adult (runner or walker) will receive a t shirt included in their entry fee.
Children are welcome! For just $5,
children 10 and under
may run in the
Kids' Dash.
All will be
given participation prizes. No t shirt will be given to children 10 and under.
Participants will run a 3.1 mile loop along scenic Highway 43 in Ponca. Elk are often seen along
the route in the morning, so we hope they will turn out to cheer us on.
Race prizes will be awarded and
bib tag drawings will be held for all
adult participants after all particpants have crossed the finish line.
