Earth Day 0.5 K

Join your fellow underachievers for a day (actually more like 10 minutes) of glory, celebration and participation awards to raise money for a great organization, Keep Van Buren Beautiful!

The 1st Annual Earth Day 0.5k will be held at 10 am on April 18, 2020 in downtown Van Buren, AR.

This will be very fun, tongue-in-cheek event that will lampoon the typical 5k.

Here are the details!
---The um, "Run" will start on Webster Ave. at the Funky Puppy Poochie Parlour, just across downtown Post Office.
---The um, "Race", will then head down Webster Avenue, turning right (west) onto 5th Street. Turn right once again onto Main Street for the final burn. The finish line and timer will finally be in sight on Main Street in front of Blanche Moore Park where you will finish in a blaze of glory.

Goodies and Fun Stuff!
---All finishers will receive a pretentious oval Euro-style 0.5k sticker that you can attach to the rear window of your car to show everyone what a cool hipster you are.
---T-shirts, of course
---Participation gifts (everyone gets recognized for their achievements at this event, no matter how bad they are, because we are all about positivity and self-worth.)
---Coffee/soda and donut station along the route for carbo-loading and energy.
---Finish line photos. If you don’t get a pic and brag on social media – did it really even happen???
---Individual and group costume contests with prizes. The theme for this Earth Day .5k is “Trashy”. Come dressed for fun!
---Safety First! A possibly fully staffed, or not staffed at all, medical tent will be in place, you know, just in case. 546 yards is nothing to take too lightly.
