Please know that our event is rain or shine, so the ASCV 5K & Family Fun Day will go in, even in the rain. We will not have indoor space, but each major event area will be tented.
If we are expecting dangerous weather conditions, we will be sure to send an email & update our website by 7:30 AM on Saturday with our updated plans. Our number one priority is the safety of our participants, vendors, and volunteers!
Over the past twenty-one years, the Autism Society of Central Virginia 5K has grown from a small venture to a large annual event that attracts over 1,200 participants. This family-friendly event features entertainment, food, exhibitors and a Kids Zone. The day’s activities include a competitive 5K, entertainment, an awards ceremony, and Resource Fair. The Resource Fair will present dozens of organizations, including autism service providers and local businesses. The event concludes with our Awards Ceremony, where we will recognize race winners, top teams, and fundraisers. All funds raised from this event provide much needed support for individuals with autism and their families in Central Virginia.

What if the weather is bad?
The ASCV 5K & Family Fun Day is a rain or shine event, and we will host it as planned unless there are dangerous weather conditions. There is no scheduled inclement weather date. Because the ASCV depends on this important fundraiser to support our local autism community, it is not our policy to issue refunds to participants who are unable to attend or if the event has to be cancelled.
Are dogs allowed at the 5K & Family Fun Day?
Due to safety concerns on the race course, as well as fear of dogs of participants with autism, we ask that no pets other than registered service animals attend the event.

How will the race be timed?
The Richmond Road Runners Club is providing timing services for the ASCV 5K. Chip timing, available to purchase online as an add-on during or after registration for $5, is able to precisely measure your race results by registering your race chip (attached to your race bib) as you run across timing mats located at the start/finish line of the race. If you do not choose chip-timing, you will be able to see your race time on the clock at the finish line, but that time will not be recorded or eligible for Top 5K Finisher awards.
When and where will the 5K finish times be posted?
Your results will be posted on your RunSignUp profile, and you can search on the race website by bib number.
