FAQs
How does a Virtual Challenge work?
Each Summit in the Virtual Challenge will have milestone goals that must be reached to complete the challenge. You can do the challenge wherever you are at your own pace. Milestone goals are based on elevation gain. Take whatever time you need and whatever distance you need to reach the elevation. You will need to find ways to climb as much elevation as possible. If you live in the flatlands you can get creative by climbing stairs or using a stairstepper at the gym.
You will submit your progress and as you reach each milestone you receive a digital badge to mark your achievement. Complete the challenge before the end of 2022 to receive your summit pin.
How do I register?
100% of your registration fees go directly to the AWExpeditions Scholarship Foundation.
Q: How do I register?
A: Simply click Sign Up on whichever event you want to do! Follow the prompts, input your information and payment and boom, you're good to go!
Q: Can I register multiple people?
A: Yes you can! We encourage you to get friends and family to do this challenge with you! Signing up multiple people is easy, simply click "Add Additional Registrants" as you are registering. You will need to know all of their information however so make sure you have that on hand before you begin!
Q: Are there any additional fees?
A: There are two fees that we do not control. The first is sales tax which is automatically generated when you put in your address. The other is a transaction fee charged by RunSignup to process your credit card. This fee changes slightly depending on how much your transaction is, usually an additional $3-$4.
How do I join a team?
Participating in any event is more fun with your friends! During race registration you will be asked whether you want to join a team or create your own team, at which point you can do either. However, if you registered and did not join or create a team at that point, you can always do it after the fact. With a virtual event your team mates can be anywhere in the world to share this journey!
