Pirate 5000m Run

This virtual 5000m (5K) run is inspired by elite runner Tommy Rivers Puzey, who is currently battling NK/T Cell Lymphoma.  All proceeds from event registrations and T-shirt sales will be donated to his family to help cover day-to-day costs.  Tommy is married and has 3 young girls.

This is a virtual run; the goal is to run one 5K between August 1st to August 7th, 2020.  If you want to challenge yourself further, run a 5K a day for the full week, which amounts to 21.7 miles.  How ever far you choose to run, run your heart out. There is no need to submit your run times; please keep track of your own miles and times using the honor system.  If you can, please post photos and/or videos to your social media accounts with the hashtag #Pirate5000.  

The term "Pirate 5000" was inspired by a shirt the great Steve Prefontaine once wore as part of the "Pirate 5000 Mile Club."
