Description
Held in conjunction with the annual USPHS Symposium, the Surgeon General's 5K Run/Walk is a mix of members of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and the local community.
The main race will occur at Glendale Hero's Regional Park on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:15 am. There is no cost to participate and all participants in Glendale will receive a free T-shirt for participating in the run. Race packets can be picked up at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel on May 23 from 4-7pm, or at the start of the race. Participants may drive to the start line themselves, or take complementary buses from the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel to the race start will start. Buses will start loading at 5am.
There will be an optional APFT before the race from 5:30 am to 6:15 am with the 1.5 mile run being timed by the turn around point of the 5K. There is no need to pre-register for the APFT.
Shuttle to race location from hotel will start at 5am in front of the hotel.
Virtual and Satellite 5K runs will happen around the world and people interested in a branch or virtual race will sign up with the branch lead.
