Well, we've held out as long as we could, but we're at the point where we have to formally postpone the Inaugural Biosphere 2 EarthRun 5k until sometime in the coming months. While we would love nothing more than to meet up at the world-famous Biosphere 2 and enjoy a run through the roads it is simply not possible. We have considered making this a Virtual Run, but we think it's best if we simply wait until there is a good time to meet together on the grounds of the Biosphere 2. As the University of Arizona's John Adams, the Deputy Director of the Biosphere 2, says, "Biosphere 2 remains very excited about our new partnership with Run Tucson and look forward to hosting the EarthRun at Biosphere 2 in the future. We appreciate your dedication, support and flexibility and wish everyone to stay healthy and safe at this challenging time."
On our end, we thank those of you have pitched in to raise funds for the Ocean Reef Lab -- we will make the donation to the UA Foundation and provide them with your contact information. You can still donate to the Ocean Reef Lab here and we will make sure the funds get sent to the Foundation. We are also grateful to our friends at Proper Villains who have been planning much of the EarthFest festivities. Danh and the team at Proper Villains had a great party planned -- we'll put it on hold and come back to it! In almost 20 years of race directing, this is the first time we've ever had to postpone an event, so this is a new experience for us. We've been in touch with several of you already -- thank you for your kind words and your feedback. Finally, we've been working with our colleagues at the Road Runners Club of America on a overview document with general advice for the national running community. We've posted a version of the document here. OK -- if anyone has any questions about our plan for the postponement, please contact me directly and we'll get it squared away.
Thank you. Randy Accetta email@example.com
