Welcome to La Cima's first Virtual 1 Mile Race!
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. After registering, you will get a bib number and then can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, or on a track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.
To compete you will need a device like a smartphone or watch to track your time and distance. If you don't have your own device maybe you can borrow a parent's. If you are not able to find a device, you can map out your route ahead of time with www.mapometer.com but you will still need a way to time yourself. Upload your results to this website and check back for final results.
We encourage all La Cima students, families, and staff to participate! This is a great way for student-athletes to stay in shape until we return to sports, but it is also a great opportunity to get active with your household.
Make sure you have permission from your parents and choose a safe route with their help (they can compete with you!)
Here is how it works:
1. Register (it's free!) on RunSignup to participate
2. Once registered, you will run or walk one mile on February 10th at any time of day (you can use your favorite watch, app or other means to time your mile).
3. Report your mile time on this RunSignup page under the "Results" tab - the deadline to report is 2/11, 9:00 am
4. Tag @lacimamiddleschool in your pictures on Instagram or send them to kdodds@amphi.com
