NEW YEAR! NEW CYCLE!
Join us for a 2-week biking event (not limited to walking, running or scootering) hosted by the Native American Research and Training Center, Pascua Yaqui Sewa U'usim Health Department (SAMHSA), Tohono O'odham Wellness Department, Indigenous Road Warriors, Tucson Indian Center and Pima County. Start this new cycle with a goal in mind, increase your physical activity by biking or walking 1 mile a day, or biking/walking 20 miles in those 2 weeks, challenge yourself and see how far you've come in those 2 weeks.
Let's start this year off with a fresh cycle (pun intended)!
First, you may be wondering what is a virtual bike ride? A virtual bike ride is like any other bike ride, but the difference is that the participants can bike any place, any time, and go at their own pace. All we ask is that you provide documentation via social media or email! Tag @NARTCUA on Facebook or send an email to: slmolina@email.arizona.edu . Those who turn in their activity logs to email: slmolina@email.arizona.edu will be entered into a raffle at the end (1 day of activity = 1 raffle ticket)! The activity logs will be posted on the facebook page you can also send us your personal logs from a device/app you use!

To get the T-shirt and SWAG bag incentive be in the first 200 registered on Run Sign Up and post a picture or video to the Facebook event page or with your personal page using the hashtag #2021DesertCyclers AND tagging @UANARTC OR by sending an image to the email: slmolina@email.arizona.edu ,if you do not have social media to show your engagement.
Those who turn in their ACTIVITY LOGS to email: slmolina@email.arizona.edu will be entered into a raffle at the end! Everyday of activity will give you a “raffle ticket”. (5 days of biking= 5 raffle tickets). The activity log is posted on the facebook event discussion tab!
***UPDATE***
T-shirt and SWAG bag will be given to the first 200 participants who are registered and are located in the Pima County and Tribal Nations area. As well as those in the Phoenix and Flagstaff area!
A RAFFLE will be given at the end of the event for all participants who send their activity logs (download and fill out) or use an activity log of your choice (Strava, Fitbit, Zwift, Apple Fitness) on January 31 by 8am to the email: slmolina@email.arizona.edu.
To get your incentives we will be having distribution stations at the Pascua Yaqui reservation, UA campus, Phoenix, and Flagstaff for you to pick up your items.
Distribution locations: Pascua Yaqui Wellness Center (5305 Calle Torim, Tucson, AZ 85757) and The Native American Research and Training Center (1642 E Helen St, Tucson, AZ 85719). Phoenix location will be: (714 East Van Buren Street Phoenix, AZ 85004) and NAU campus.
