Description
This trail half-marathon and 10K traverses the valley between the Santa Rita and the Rincon Mountains. It offers spectacular, sweeping views and is mostly a gentle, winding descent through ocotillo, prickly pear cactus, creosote, and mesquite.
Start lines are south of the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead.

Course Info
Event distances are point-to-point 10K (6.2 miles) and half-marathon (13.1 miles) with a shared finish line at the Gabe Zimmerman Memorial Trailhead in Vail, AZ. Start lines are south of this point along the Arizona Trail. Participants will check-in and park at the finish line and use race provided bus transportation to the start lines.All events are held on passages 6 and 7 of the Arizona Trail and are mostly downhill. There are several road crossings that will have a course marshal to help guide you across safely.
Check-in begins at 5:45 AM
Buses load for the Half-Marathon at 6:30 AM for a 7 AM start
Buses load for the 10K at 7:15 AM for a 7:30 AM start
Course closes at 11 AM
Directions to the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead for bus shuttles to the start
Take I-10 east and take Exit 279 (Wentworth Road/Colossal Cave Road). Turn east (left) for 0.2 mile to Frontage Road. Turn south (right) on Frontage Road for 5.2 miles to Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead. Follow signs for Event Parking.
