Description
On January 22, 2019 President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer signed a Navajo Nation Proclamation declaring the Sunday through Saturday surrounding World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th Annually as "Navajo Nation Suicide Prevention Week."
Therefore, the Division of Behavioral & Mental Health Services (DBMHS) is hosting "Run for Hope 50 mile Awareness Challenge" dedicated to trying to further the prevention of suicide by breaking the stigma that comes with dealing with depression & anxiety.
Speak Up, Reach Out if you need help. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
So, let’s complete this challenge on behalf of a loved one and together we WILL make a difference!
Run or Walk 50 Miles in 30 Days!
You'll have 4 weeks or less to complete.
Your Race! Your Pace! From any location you choose.
Registration Opens: August 28, 2020 at 8AM
Registration Ends: September 4, 2020 at 5PM
50-Mile Challenge
By participating in this challenge, you'll run or walk 50 miles in 4 weeks (30 days) or less. That's 1.67 miles per day on average.
Tracking Your Mileage
Beginning September 1st, you'll click HERE where you can log and track your mileage throughout your 50 mile challenge. You'll also be able to see the progress of all other participants as well. You can use any fitness GPS device you'd like and you can log your miles every day. It is easier and more accurate to log your miles daily, so log them in after every run/walk. **PLEASE NOTE: Your mileage does not count until AFTER you register!
Results
After you log your miles throughout the challenge, you can view your results HERE with finalized calculations.
Prizes
Participants who complete the challenge will be entered into a raffle for incentives.
