Start Lap

For the start of the race: to give racers extra time to spread out before entering the first section of singletrack, racers will start the course going reverse direction and take a clockwise lap of Randy's Loop, returning back into the stadium area, and heading out on the course in the normal direction. This is the only time riders will ride Randy's in this direction, or use the shortcut from Randy's back into the stadium. Upon completing a lap of the course, racers will round out all of Randy's in the normal counterclockwise direction.

Gasline 2-Way Neutral/Cut-off

Gasline Junction 2-Way Neutral Zone: 50mi, 50k, Relay, and 25K Racers will cross the south end of the Gasline Trail near the Hilltop Trailhead and bottom of Spencer Loop twice per lap. This area is often busy with other users. The course will use a single segment of ski trail, with two-way traffic separated by cones and traffic candles. The 2-way section is a neutral zone (no passing). The neutral zone ends on either side of the two-way division where the course again resumes full width and direction use of the wide ski trails.

10 Mile Cut Off: 10-mile Racers do not cross gasline. They will stay left at the marked split Besh Loop Ski Trail. The cut off will be marked with blue flagging and signs directing full distance racers to go right and 10-mile Racers to go left..

Miller Time Cut Off

Halfway down Miller Time, full course racers will exit right at the marked split, and go down the Bog Ski Trail. 10-mile Racers will follow the blue flagging and stay on Miller Time at this cut off. The two courses re-merge and continue down lower Miller Time at the lighted ski trail.

Tour of Anchorage Trail Junction

Cones will be used to divide the 4-way junction of the Tour of Anchorage Trail and Randy's Lighted Ski Trail. This is a known congested area, and is often loose with gravel. Racers should use caution when making their left turns here.
