Yes, for a fee of $15 you can defer your registration to the next year's edition. This option is available only until October 15th, 2025.
Full refunds are allowed until August 31, 2025 11:59pm MDT. Please note that the initial registration processing fee is non-refundable, plus a $4.99 race refund processing fee.
The event will take place regardless of weather conditions. New Mexico is quite a good place to host a marathon, especially in the Fall with nearly perfect weather conditions.

There is no race day packet pickup. Come the day before or have someone else pick up your packet. For those who paid for a packet to be mailed out, we will ship them out about 2 weeks out.

The official street closure will end, and you can still finish at your discretion using the sidewalks. You must obey the traffic laws. We will wait at the finish line with a medal and well-deserved celebrations!
Race registration transfers are not allowed. You can change your registration to another distance on your runsignup account for a fee of and any additional race registration price difference.
Yes, road closure and safety are ensured for all runners under 6 hours in the marathon. Road closures will start at 1pm.

Albuquerque Running Fiesta is a separate race from the Duke City Marathon. Our organization is local and has been in the business of race production for 8+ years. 2026 is the second year of the ARF.
Yes, we allow for event transfers. It is possible to do so until October 15th, 2026 for a fee of $12. After this date, you cannot switch to another event.
We do not offer refunds, but you can 'gift' your registration to someone else until 9/30/2026. They will pay the processing fee of $12.

This option for individuals is not available at this time. Only running groups/clubs participating in that specific program can get customized bibs (groups 30+)
The marathon has a total elevation gain of 51 feet, making it on of the flattest in the country. The half marathon has even less than that. The biggest ascents/discents are just under passes on a bridge of about 7-10 feet.
Aid stations will be located approximately every 2 to 3 miles along the course, with additional hydration points where needed. Stations will be stocked with water and electrolyte drink, and select locations will also provide energy gels. Medical personnel and course volunteers will be present throughout the course to assist runners. We will share the detailed course map for the exact aid station locations closer to the race day.
