LOCATIONS:

  • HALF MARATHON + 5K START LINE - 7:00 AM

    • The intersection of Fairfax Street and Wythe Streets across from Oronco Bay Park. 

  • HALF MARATHON + 5K FINISH LINE

    • N Union St at the intersection with Oronoco St, Alexandria VA

  • FINISH FESTIVAL

    • Oronoco Bay Park, 100 Madison St, Alexandria VA

  • THE KIDZ DOC DASH

    • (Start) Union St and King St, Alexandria VA

    • (Finish) Oronoco Bay Park, 100 Madison St, Alexandria VA

BAG DROP:

  • Bag drop will be located at the north end of Oronoco Bay Park

  • Use the clear bag provided to you at packet pick up for gear check. ONLY clear bags provided by the race will be allowed to be left in bag drop.  Affix your bib # ID Tag from the bottom of your bib to the strings of your bag.

  • Bags must be collected post-race by 11:30am

RESTROOMS:

  • Restrooms will be available near the start and finish line. 

  • Restrooms will be on course at all aid stations.

  • Each aid station will include at least one ADA accessible unit.

RACE START TIMES:

  • The half marathon and 5K start time is 7:00 AM.  

  • START CORRALS - Runner assigned corrals will be marked on each bib at packet pickup.  The start will be managed by Corrals A thru E.  Your corral will be clarified to you as you collect your race packet and is based on ranges of the provided predicted pace per mile that you shared in your registration.  As usual, the start area will close at 10 minutes after the gun, so be sure to be ready for the fun! 
    ** If your projected pace per mile changes after your have registered please email events@runpacers.com and ask for a record edit before race week and PPU.  
    ** If you want to run with a specific buddy choose the slower pace per mile to match your buddy as you register. 

  • Plan to be in the start corral area and ready to run on race morning by no later than 6:45 AM.  

  • The Kids Dash will start at 10:30 AM at the intersection of King and Union streets.

TIME LIMITS:

  • Race distance course cutoff for the half marathon is based on a 15 minute per mile pace.  This roughly equates to a 3:30 half marathon.  Runners will need to maintain that pace or may be asked to move off the course to the public sidewalks to complete the distance.

AID STATIONS: 

  • The start area will provide water.  

  • The FIVE on-course aid stations will include water, Gatorade, bananas.  

  • Restrooms, standard and ADA accessible, will be available at all aid stations on course. 

  • There is (1) 5K only aid station and there are (6) half marathon aid stations.  All aid stations include portable toilets and medical.  Athletes are expected to bring their own nutrition.

PACE TEAM:

  • The half marathon will have 13 pace teams comprised of two members each for each overall time target. 

  • Pace leaders will be wearing special singlet tees and carrying overhead signs showing their pace per mile and overall target times.  

  • Gather on race morning in the start area for your intended pace per mile and introduce yourself to these amazing pace leaders.

  • Pace team leader overall time targets:  1:30; 1:35; 1:40; 1:45; 1:50; 1:55; 2:00; 2:10; 2:20; 2:30; 2:45; 3:00; 3:15 

DOGS AND STROLLERS:

  • Unfortunately, due to the size of the event, we can no longer allow dogs or strollers on the Half distance course.  

  • Strollers ARE allowed in the 5K race and will be asked for safety reasons to start the run in the final corral grouping.  You will want to select the last projected pace per mile to be set into the last corral.

  • Dogs and strollers are allowed as spectators as well as in the post-race festival area. Dogs must be up to date on vaccines, well behaved around other people, and kept on a leash at all times.

  • Service dogs are exempt from this policy. However, if you plan to run with a service dog, please notify us ahead of time by emailing events@runpacers.com so we can best accommodate you.
