Half Marathoners and 10 Mile runners and walkers have 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete their event. Early start of 30 extra mins is available for Half Marathoners. To get an early start, please click on the contact us button and mention the name of the event and date of that event in your email.
Early start runners are not eligible for awards or placement in the official rankings of the 7 AM start time.
5K and 10K runners and walkers have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete their distances.

All of our Long Beach events have Bib Pick Up the day before the event on the 2nd floor at Sports Basement, 2100 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach (store discount sent via email the week of the event). Time is listed on the home page of this event.
Other locations usually only have race day bib pick up. Check the email you receive the week of the event and/or the event home page and/or our social media feeds for the most up to date information. Don't trust the information in your confirmation email, sometimes things change.
Same-day race registration is available but the price goes up if you wait. $50 for the half marathon and $45 for all other distances. Payment can be made via cash or Zelle. You may also register with a credit card on the event page on RunSignUp from your phone up until the race starts.

Every participant will proudly claim a finisher's medal, a symbol of your triumph etched in metal.
Shirts are available for an extra fee. You can purchase a shirt during registration, on the “shop” tab of the website, during bib pick up and/or on race day. Shirts are available in men’s and women’s cuts.
There will be food and beverages available at the finish line and at an aid station on the course and free downloadable photos from a professional photographer on our website within 24 hours of the end of the event.
Please go to https://requestmyrefund.com/regshield/refund to file a claim and request a refund. Insurance is handled by a third party and the event management team is not able to file your claim for you or impact the decision on your claim. You must purchase insurance during registration. Insurance will come as part of a second confirmation email, it will not be noted on the event confirmation email.

There are no transfers but you can move your registration to one of our other events, on a different day, at no cost. Free transfers must be done 48 hours or more before the event, after that a fee will be incurred. Please see the other FAQ about changing events for details.
Yes, there will be water and electrolyte drinks at the finish along with bananas, protein bars and other goodies.
All events are timed using gun time, which means the clock starts when the horn sounds and your time is recorded as you cross the finish line. Therefore, it is essential to wear your bib on the front of your body at all times so that the timers can see your number.
We manually record your times as you cross the finish line. Your time will be posted to the event website within 3 hours of the conclusion of the event.
There will be a lot of walkers, often half the participants are walking. We welcome and celebrate all participants at every pace.
Our laid-back, fun events do not include an awards ceremony. However, we do offer first-place medals to the top male and female finishers in each distance.
Rain or shine, our event is on.

Absolutely! We love volunteers! As a thank you, you'll enjoy delicious snacks and be part of the action and excitement of working a race, and earn a free entry into any upcoming High Tides Run of your choice.
Although there is no "standard" age at which a runner should get involved in the sport of running, we recommend runners be at least age 10 for the Half Marathon, 8 for the 10K, and 6 years old for the 5K. Ultimately, it is up to each parent or guardian to adjust our recommended age, higher or lower, depending upon their dependent's ability to participate in our event. You know your children, we trust your judgement and that of the medical professionals you consult.
Absolutely! We get A LOT of first timers at our events. Our courses are flat/easy with a ton of positive energy to help you to the finish line.
We do discounts for teams of 10 or more and for youth groups of various sizes. Contact us if you have a large group.
Otherwise, our events are already cheaper than any other events you are going to find. Most events that offer what we do cost twice as much. You will get timing, a medal, food and beverages, free photos from a professional photographer, course aid station, staff and volunteers to guide you and much more.
