Virtual 5k Race Against Racism

This is a virtual 5k race where you can run or walk from wherever you like! It costs $5.00 to participate (but you can donate more) and proceeds will go to Black Lives Matter Canada as well as the Black Solidarity Fund. The event fee and donations can be e-transferred to my email (collinscailyn@gmail.com). The event starts on August 17 and ends on August 23. You can participate at any time during the week and submit your times when you have completed the 5k.

Black Lives Matter Canada is the Canadian chapter of #BlackLivesMatter, an international organization that works towards ending police and state violence as well as anti-black racism. Here is their website with more information about the organization and its demands: https://blacklivesmatter.ca

The Black Solidarity Fund is made up of over 50 charities that support Black Canadians. These charities are working towards advancing social services, economic opportunities, mental health supports, advocacy efforts, and access to education for Black Canadians. Many of these charities are also preserving and celebrating Black art, heritage, and culture and their immense contribution to Canada.
