9 Parish Hill Climb Challenge

Real racing! 

From today through the end of June we will be running a hill climb series that includes one climb in each of the nine parishes.  All of the climbs are segments on Strava from where the results will be pulled.  Riders can attempt any and all of these when they want but they need to be uploading their rides to Strava in order to be included in the results.  The rules require the effort to include either heart rate, cadence or power data to verify that the effort was legitimate and not just being towed by a car or some other devious form of circumventing fair competition.

Description:

The event includes one hill in each parish. Participants will have until the end of June 30th to complete all nine climbs and the winner has the best total time. Results are only taken from rides posted on Strava.

Results will be published for overall standing and by age and gender. The age groups are:

• Under 15
• Under 19
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50+

*There will be a male and female category for each age group as well

Race Rules

• This event is only open to BBA members.
• Registration will be done on www.RaceDayWorld.com
• There is no fee for registration.
• Rides must be posted on Strava to be recognized.
• Rolling starts on the segments are allowed.
• Segments can be completed in any order and as many times as desired. Fastest times will be counted.
• Only rides that include actual power, heart rate or cadence data will be accepted in order to verify the effort.
• Interim results will be posted in the BBA newsletter each Wednesday including efforts through the end of the preceding day.

 ALL CLIMBS MUST BE FINISHED BEFORE THE END OF JUNE 30TH

Results will be published each week with the overall winners announced on July 1. 

Please note that in order to be included in the competition riders must be members of the BBA.  If you were waiting to renew your membership until the start of the season then this is the time to do it.
