Description
Bermuda is excited to host the 2017 Hamilton CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon American Cup. The event is an ITU Continental Cup, and is a draft-legal race over the Sprint distance. ITU Continental Cup races attract some of the best triathletes in the world and are not just limited to elite triathletes from CAMTRI federations; elite and junior triathletes from National Federations outside CAMTRI are eligible and also welcome to enter.
As an ITU event, all elite triathletes must register for the race online and must also register through their National Federation to be entered into the ITU System.
Age group racing, sponsored by Digicel, take place in the morning followed by the elite races later in the morning, registration for this event will be available in the next few weeks on www.racedayworld.com.
Come to Bermuda for the weekend and race the sprint triathlon! Come and enjoy our lovely Island.
Spring in Bermuda brings pleasant sunshine, daytime highs in the mid-seventies dropping to high sixties at night.

Age Group Non-draft Race
On race day before the Continental Cup, Age Group triathletes will have their own opportunity to race on the same fast course as the elites. The swim will be an out-and-back course alongside Hamilton Harbour, the bike comprises an exciting city street circuit and the run takes competitors up and down Front St with great views of the harbour and beyond.
Please Note, the 7-10yr and 11-12yr age group races are now DUATHLONS.
The junior race categories and distances are:
- 7-10yr olds. 0.5km run/5km bike/1km run
- 11-12yr olds. 1km run/10km bike/2km run
The 13-15yr age group race is STILL a Triathlon
- 13-15yr olds. 375m swim/10km bike/2.5km run
Entries are $30 for each competitor. The juniors will also use an abridged version of the same course as the elites.
The Age Group race will be a Sprint Distance Triathlon (750m swim/20km bike/5km run). The age groups will be:
- 16-19yr olds
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60+
Entry fees are $60 for individual competitors, $120 for team entries. The team races will be split into Male/Female, Mixed and Corporate events.

- 0715 Junior Races start
- Transition opens at 6:30-7:00 for Juniors
- 0800 Age Group Races start
- Transition opens at 7:15-7:45 for Age Groups
Additional Information
- Swimmers must wear swim cap –NOT SUPPLIED
- You must have a bike in GOOD WORKING ORDER
- You must have an ANSI or Snell approved bike helmet that fits and clips up
- Swimmers must be able to swim the distance of the race in deep water without assistance
- All competitors must follow triathlon rules outlined on www.bta.bm– NO DRAFTING
- No outside assistance for competitors permitted
- Senior individuals must be a member of the Bermuda Triathlon Association
