Back To School Classic 5K Run/Walk

Race Venue

1. Where will be the race be held?  McNabb Middle School at 3570 Indian Mound Drive, Mount Sterling, KY 40353
2. What time does the race start?  The 5K race start time is 8:00 am. The 1 Mile Walk starts at 9:00 am.
3. What time should I arrive?  Please arrive at least one hour before the 5K race start time.
4. Where will I park?  Parking is available in the school parking lots.

 

Directions from I-64 east of Mount Sterling

1. Follow signs for I-64 West
2. At exit 113, take ramp right for US-60 toward Mt. Sterling
3. Turn left onto US-60/Midland Trail (1.6 miles)
4. Turn left onto SR-686/Indian Mound Drive (2.1 miles)
5. Arrive at 3570 Indian Mound Drive

 

Directions from I-64 west of Mount Sterling

1. Follow signs for I-64 East
2. At exit 110, take ramp right for US-460/SR-11 toward Mt. Sterling/Flemingsburg
3. Turn right onto US-460/SR-11/Maysville Rd (0.2 miles)
4. Turn right onto SR-686 East/Indian Mound Drive (4.2 miles)
5. Arrive at 3570 Indian Mound Drive

 

McNabb Middle School is located across from Papa John's Pizza at Indian Mound Drive and Burley Way

 

Race Registration

1. When does online registration close?  Online registration will close on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at midnight.
2. Can I register on race day?  Yes. Race day registration is available from 6:30 am to 7:30 am for $30.
3. What do I get for my registration fee?  The first 200 registrants will receive a race t-shirt with their race packet.
4. Is there a benefitting charity?  Yes, race proceeds benefit the Carol Barnes Volner Scholarship Fund.
5. Can I get a refund of my registration fee? Sorry, registration fees are for the benefit of the charity and are non-refundable.

 

Race Participation

1. When can I get my race t-shirt and race number?  On race day starting at 6:30 am at the race site.
2. Can I view a course map?  Well...., we're working on a course map. Stay tuned...
3. Is the course totally on paved surfaces?  Yes.
4. Is the course suitable for strollers?  Yes. Pushing a stroller on this course is possible. Please start in the back of the race pack.
5. Can I walk the 5K race?  Yes! Walkers are welcome.  Please start in the back of the race pack.
6. Can I bring my dog?  Yes! Dogs on a fixed length leash are welcome on the course. No retractractable leashes please as they create a trip hazard.  Please start in the back of the race pack.

 

Race Timing/Awards/Prizes/Results

1. Will the race be timed?  Yes! The race will be timed by 3 Way Racing.
2. Will awards be presented after the race?  Yes! Awards for the top male and female finishers and the top male and female in the following age groups will be presented as soon as possible after the race. Overall awards will be based on "gun time" and age group awards will be based on "chip time". Age groups are: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
3. Will there be a prize drawing?  Yes! Door prizes will be given out during the post-race ceremony.
