The Rules
General Rules
- Teams of 4 to 8 people
- Teammates may run together in a heat or individually in different heats
- Teams and runners are assigned to treadmills by random drawing.
- Teams racing together receive priority assignments in order to keep the team together
- Each runner uses their assigned treadmill for the duration of the race, 60 minutes
- Nutrition typically used when running is allowed on the treadmills
- Towels are provided
- Minimum attire required includes running shoes, shorts, and a top. Crop tops, sports bras,
and singlets are allowed - Headphones are allowed while running
Race Rules
- Bib must be worn on the runners back for the duration of the race
- Five minutes is allowed for warming up on the treadmill before the raceTreadmills must be set to zero in time and distance
- Incline must be set to 1%
- Runners start on the floor, behind the start line, 2ft from the treadmill
- Runners must complete the 60 minute run without support from others
- Breaks are allowed. Taking a break requires the runner to remain running on the treadmill
- until it comes to a full stop before stepping to the floor
- When the race director signals a change in incline, all runners must immediately adjust their
- treadmill incline or risk a time penalty or disqualification
Awards
- Teams: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for highest average miles run
- Run Club: 1st for the highest average miles run
- Heats: 1st female and male
- Sweat Award/Middle of the Pack: best effort overall
- Penalties and Disqualifications
- 1/4 mile penalty for any infraction. Multiple infractions may lead to disqualification
- Penalties and disqualifications are at the discretion of the race director
- Stepping or standing on the side of the treadmill while the tread is in motion
- Leaving the treadmill while the treadmill is in motion
- Impeding a runner by touching the speed, incline, or console of another runners treadmill
- Inappropriate attire or attire that distracts other runners
- Failure to adjust the treadmill incline immediately when the race director signals a change
