Mini Course
The Mini is a 4.2-mile loop course. It follows the 10 Miler Run course for 2.3 miles with 1.8 miles run on single-track trail (primarily the Willis River Trail). The Mini runners will turn onto the Cumberland Multi-use (fire road) for 0.9 miles, then re-join the 10-miler course to finish up on the Lakeside and other park trails. The Willis River Trail is the single-track and challenging section: the second half of the race can be run faster and more easily. There are no significant elevation changes, but you will still get about 400 feet of vert.The trail will cross a few small creeks, include a few short hills and have some challenging sections with fallen trees across the path and leaves, roots and mud underfoot. This map provides a general overview of the loop course but it will be wise to follow the course markings on race day and even then some runners manage to wander off course.
