Where does the race start and finish and when?
All races start and finish at Quarry Lakes Recreation Area, 2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA 94536.

7:00 am Registration/bib pickup opens
7:55 am National anthem
8:00 am Half marathon start
8:30 am 10k start
9:00 am 5k start
9:10 am Top Dog Dash
9:15 am Beer Stroll
11:00 am Beat the Beast Beer Mile
12:00 pm Beer drinking concludes
Yes! Children are welcome for every part of this event, from running in the morning through the Beer City Festival in the afternoon. We are a family-friendly group.
The SLAM takes place on the creek trails in and around Quarry Lakes. See Courses.
The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k are all chip-timed events with podium awards for the top-three runners by gender. Age group awards are given 3 deep by gender, too. Just check in at the Awards and Swag tent to get yours. We do not time or give awards for the Top Dog Dash or Beer Stroll.
All runners and their dogs receive finishers' medals!
There is packet pickup on Friday, August 14. Location is TBD. Yes, you can pickup for friends. No, this isn't required. You can pickup on race morning too. To wit:
On race day, there is bib pickup starting just after 7am at the Start.
There will be post-race beer for racers over 21 years of age, as well as non-alcoholic beer and other drinks like bubbly water and soda pop. There will also be a post-race treat and fruit.
Your race registration also allows you to enjoy beer from our Beer City Festival brewers as they load in and set up. Beer tasting for runners goes until 12 pm.
Sure! You can buy a Lazy Friend Pass at checkout that allows your friend or friends to join you from 9:45 am until 12 pm.
The Top Dog Dash is a 1-mile run for you and your dog. It's also a fundraiser for Pets in Need during National Clear the Shelters Month. All proceeds from the Top Dog Dash go to Pets in Need. All racers and their dogs get Beer City Hero capes!
At Beer City, we want you to join us whenever you can. You can defer or transfer your race registration at any time up to race day. Here's a video that shows you how. We don't offer cash refunds, though. We offer inexpensive race insurance instead.
