Frequently Asked Questions
All runners must complete the Behemoth 50k & 25k within the ten-hour limit to earn an official finish. Runners that fail to earn an official finish will not receive a finisher's award.
Runners that expect to remain on course within the final hour (4:30pm to 5:30pm) must carry a light source.
Drop bags are permitted, and runners are encouraged to bring their own nutrition in a drop bag if desired. Drop bags will be taken from the race start to the Playground Aid Station (Miles 6 and 23.5)
Yes, but crew may only meet or aid their runner at Start/Finish (The 25k mark for 50k runners), as our course features a few road crossings further down.
Yes!! 50k runners can access their vehicles at the 25k mark (the Start/Finish) to get whatever they may need.
Parking is free, and there should be ample space at the pool.
Porta-Potties will be available at the Start/Finish and at the halfway point for 50k runners.
For the most part, yes. However, there are some dead spots along the top of Kate's Mountain on Kate's Mountain Road and Holsapple Trail.
The Greenbrier State Forest is huntable, and we have a fairly active hunting season. Though we expect to maintain a notable presence on race day to alert hunters, we encourage runners to remain vigilant on course. Consider wearing high-visibility gear or bright orange. Above all else, be courteous out there!
Though the Greenbrier State Forest is open to the public, dogs are not allowed to accompany runners at Behemoth for the safety of other runners.
In-ear headphones or earbuds are not banned, but are also encouraged at this event. We hope you can enjoy the trails!
