Half Marathon Course

Image

The Big River Crossing Half marathon starts at the Foot of Beale Street on Riverside Dr.  The run will take you up the Bluff on Jefferson and south on Second Street, working your way to Main Street and Carolina to Channel 3 Drive to be the first event runners to run across the Harahan Bridge since it was built in 1916.

The course will take you across the river and onto the Big River Trail.   On the Arkansas Terminus you will run down and around a ramp to Dacus Lake Rd.  Dacus Lake Rd. is being transformed from a gravel road to a hard road surface using re purposed asphalt.   As you run on the flat terrain you will enjoy views of Downtown Memphis and farm land on the river side of the levee.  A newly built hard surface road made with re purposed asphalt will take you close to The Mississippi River for more spectacular views Memphis's Riverfront and Tom Lee Park.  You will then run under Interstate 40 and along Dacus Lake, an old fish camp.  Run a short out and back, and then you are running back toward The Big River Crossing.  Back up the ramp and back to Memphis, you will then run through Martyr Park and down to Tom Lee Park and the Finish line.

You will have aid stations approximately every mile attended by Peer Power High School Students.
