THE 2021 BLUEGRASS 10,000 VIRTUAL RACE
What does that mean?
You can run your preferred distance (1-mile or 10k) and you will be prompted to enter your time online. You can click here for instructions.
When and where?
You will be able to run your race between July 3-4. You can run the race anywhere you wish! We have some fun surprises in store for race week!
Do I get a shirt?
Yes! We are going to have a local designer give us a limited-edition design for this year. We will announce curbside pickup options for picking up your shirt prior to the race. We will be ordering an exact number of shirts so you will not be able to trade for an alternate size.
What about timing and records?
This year's Virtual Race will not count for any awards or records. The in person 10K downtown on Saturday July 3rd will have awards, and you will be able to track your time through the RaceJoy App. You can click here for instructions on entering your own race time between July 3 at 5:30am to July 4 at 8 p.m.
What if I do not want to do a virtual run?
We hope that you give our virtual run a try! If you do not wish to participate, you can race in person downtown Saturday July 3rd. This option is only available for Bluegrass 10,000 runners. It is not an option if you signed up for the Bluegrass Trifecta. You must defer by June 1 or you will officially be a part of our virtual run.
When am I able to pick-up my race packet?
This is a unique race in many ways this year. To make the race possible, we had to do a very specific order of race shirts. This means we will be unable to swap shirt sizes from what you have ordered.
No mailing is available this year.
Packet Pickup Dates and Locations
If you are unable to pick up your packet in person then someone else may pick up your packet for you
June 21, 5 – 7 p.m. at John’s Run Walk Shop (Palomar)
June 22, 11:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Lululemon in the Summit
June 27, 12 – 3 p.m. at John’s Run Walk Shop (Ashland)
June 29, 5 – 7 p.m. at John’s Run Walk Shop (Ashland)
July 2, 10 – 6 p.m. at Artworks at the Carver Center parking lot. Last chance, no packets will be picked up on race day.
No packet pickup is offered on race day.
If you register by 11:59pm on Tuesday, June 22nd then you are guaranteed a shirt before the race. Anyone who registers after this date MAY not receive a shirt until after the race. Those registered between June 24th and July 2nd are not guaranteed a shirt by race day. We have a limited number of shirts available, and once they are sold out they are gone.
The last day to register for the race is Friday, July 2nd.
I created a team, but I didn't get a discount. How does that work?
The discount is for teams of 5 or more who are running the VIRTUAL RACE ONLY. The first four members will register for the full price, but you will receive a refund after the fifth person registers.
I differed my registration from last year to this year, and want to run in person.
If you are running in person and are unable to differ your registration please email lexbg10k@gmail.com with your name and the race you wish to differ to, and they will make changes on the website.
