Fisher House Boston
Fisher House Boston is there to ease the burden of military families during medical hardship in Boston. Our vision is to serve those who served, offering hope and healing during times of crisis to military families. Hear their stories.
Cillian's Story
Sam, who is a Marine, and his wife Brynne moved from Ohio to one of Fisher House of Boston’s Apartments in January of this year in anticipation of the birth of their son, Cillian, in February. Cillian has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and required immediate intervention after birth, and for numerous months following. Sam and Brynne stayed in our apartment until 29 October 2023, for a total of 302 nights, while Cillian underwent numerous open-heart surgeries, heart catheterizations, and experienced some severe complications. Through it all, Brynne and Sam were able to be steps away from Cillian, able to be by his bedside in a matter of moments, if needed. Fisher House of Boston provided this apartment to Sam and Brynne absolutely free of charge. Without this program they faced lodging costs of around $105,000.
Kevin's Story
Meet Betty Jo and Kevin, both remarkable Air Force Veterans, and one of the original families whose journey helped spark the creation of the Fisher House Boston Hotel Program. Today, we’re recognizing a special milestone: the 11-year anniversary of Kevin’s Medulloblastoma (Brain Cancer) diagnosis. Their resilience and dedication have inspired us all, and we’re honored to have supported them and so many other families along the way. Join us in celebrating Betty Jo and Kevin, as well as all the families who make up the heart of our community.
