FAQ

How long is the race?
The Bourbon & Beyond 5K is a 5K

 

What time does the race start?
The race begins at 8 a.m. EST.

 

Is there a capacity limit (cap) on the race?
Yes. The race is limited to the first 2,500 to register.

 

May walkers participate?
Yes, walkers may participate.

 

Where are the Start and Finish Lines?
The start and finish lines are outside Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Expo Center

 

What time does the Finish Line close?
The Finish Line closes at 10:00 a.m.

 

Are headphones, ipods or MP3 players permitted?
You may wear your headphones, ipods or MP3 players; however, we ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants.

You should still be able to hear participants and volunteers in proximity to you.

 

Do I need to return the chip?
No. We are using disposable chips that DO NOT need to be turned in after the race.

 

Are strollers allowed?
Yes. Strollers are allowed. However, you will be asked to start at the back of the chute for the safety of the other participants.

 

Will there be in-race hydration?
Yes. There will be one water station along the course route. Participants may also bring their own water bottles to minimize the need to stop at on-course hydration stations.

 

What will I receive for participating?
ALL participants will receive a short-sleeve tri-blend shirt and a custom finisher's medal.

 

When is the last day to register?
The last day to register online is Sept. 20, 2024, or when race hits its capacity of 2,500. You can also register at packet pick-up and on race day for $45.  You will need to pay with cash or credit card.

 

Where do I get my race packet?
Packet pick-up will be on Sept. 20, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Planet Fitness, 4025 Poplar Level Rd., Louisville, Ky. 40213. You can also pick up your packet race day at the Kentucky Expo Center beginning at 7  a.m.

 

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes. But they will need a copy of your registration confirmation number, which you will receive upon registration, or a photocopy of your ID.

 

What types of wheelchairs are allowed?
Push-rims are the only style of wheelchair allowed. The top male/female wheelchairs will be recognized.

 

Are there bathrooms on the course?
No. Bathrooms will not be on the course, but there will be porta-pots at the start/finish line and at the water stop.

 

Where do I park?

There will be free, on-site at the Kentucky Expo Center. Lot still TBD..

 

How do I get my results?
You will be able to get results on the race website immediately following the race.

 

What is the cancellation policy?
Sorry, there are no refunds for cancellations.
