BreyerFest Never Say NEIGH-ver 5K

Race Venue

1. Where will the race be held? The Start/Finish line will be near the Alltech Arena inside the Kentucky Horse Park, 4089 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY 40511.
2. What time does the race start? The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:00 am.
3. What time should I arrive? Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the race start time.
4. Where will I park? Parking is available in the parking lots near the Alltech Arena. Carpooling is encouraged, as daily parking fees of $5 will be collected when entering the park. Parking passes purchased for the general BreyerFest event may be used on race day.
5. Are there any restrictions at the race venue? None at this time.

Race Registration

1. Is there a benefiting charity? Yes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farms (www.oldfriendsequine.org).
2. Can I get a refund of my registration fee? Sorry. Registration fees are non-refundable.
3. Should I register my young children? Small children who can't run or walk the 5K need not be registered. We do have a Kid's Dash for children 8 and under.
4. When does online registration close? The in-person online 5K Run/Walk registration will be open until the race starts.
5. Can I register on race day? Yes, but all registration is done online.
6. What do I get for my registration fee? Your registration fee includes your race number, chip timing, race shirt (guaranteed if registered by July 1), and finisher medal (all while supplies last).

Race Participation

1. When can I get my race shirt and race number? Packet pickup is Thursday, July 11: from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Fleet Feet Lexington, The Summit at Fritz Farm. Saturday, July 13: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at BreyerFest Entrance, near KY Horse Park Visitor's Center. Sunday, July 14: 6:45 am - 7:45 am at the Alltech Arena. 
2. Can I view a course map? Yes, there is a link to the 5K course map on the homepage of the race website.
3. Is the course totally on hard surfaces? Yes. The 5K course is in the paved parking lot and on the roads near the Alltech Arena.
4. Is the course suitable for strollers? No. The course is primarily an out-and-back design with some narrow passages that will not accommodate strollers.
5. Can I walk the race? Yes! Walkers are welcome.
6. Can I bring my dog? Yes! No retractable leashes, please. Retractable leashes are a trip hazard for other participants.
7. Are there other restrictions? None at this time.
8. What is a Virtual 5K? A Virtual run/walk event enables remote participation in the event. A virtual participant will NOT participate in the in-person event at the Kentucky Horse Park but can select the time and place for their 5K run/walk. Virtual participants may submit their time on the Virtual Results page or the RaceJoy mobile app. There will be no awards for the Virtual 5K.

Race Timing/Awards/Results

1. Will the race be timed? Yes. The race timing will be provided by Central Kentucky Race Management and Race Rise.
2. Will awards be presented after the race? Please refer to our Awards page for more info.
3. Can I find my finish time online? Yes! Please navigate to the Results page for finish times.

Virtual Race Information

• A Virtual run/walk event enables remote participation in the event. 
• A virtual participant will NOT participate in the in-person event at the Kentucky Horse Park but can select the time and place for their 5K run/walk.
• THERE WILL BE NO AWARDS FOR THE VIRTUAL 5K.
• Virtual Race registration will close on July 14, 2024, at 8:00 am.
• Virtual Race registration will be limited to participants with a valid US Shipping address. 
• All Virtual Race registered participants will have their race packets shipped to them. 
• Virtual 5K participants can submit their times between midnight EDT on July 10 and 11:59 pm EDT on July 14.
• Virtual participants may submit their time on the Virtual Results page
• Virtual 5K participants may also use the RaceJoy app, and RaceJoy will automatically submit your elapsed time.
