FAQ

Registration and Check-In

You can pre-register online for individual rides. After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email — please bring it with you (digital or printed) to the Check-In Tent on ride day. You’ll receive your participant wristband and any merchandise you purchased.

Not all rides offer day-of registration — please check the specific ride page for availability.

What’s included with my registration?

Every Trailnet Classic ride includes:

  • Clearly marked routes
  • Maps and cue sheets
  • Turn-by-turn navigation via Ride with GPS
  • Stocked rest stops with hydration and snacks
  • SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles on route
  • Basic mechanical and first aid support
  • Post-ride snacks and refreshments

Some rides may also include:

  • Professional on-course photography
  • Chip timing and results tracking
  • Ride-specific swag or merchandise

Details for extras will be listed on each ride’s page.

Event Day

When should I arrive?

Check-in typically opens about 90 minutes before the ride start. We recommend arriving early so you have time to park, check in, air up your tires, and get settled before rolling out.

What’s the difference between a Group Start and an Open Start?

Group Start — Riders roll out together under escort, typically due to host community or safety requirements. After the escorted section, riders continue at their own pace.

Open Start — Riders may begin anytime within a designated start window. This helps manage course flow and gives riders flexibility.

Do you cancel rides for weather?

Trailnet Classics are held rain or shine — riding in the elements is part of the adventure.

However, if extreme weather is likely, we may delay or cancel for participant and volunteer safety. Updates will be shared by email, text (if opted in), and social media.

Do I need to ride at a certain pace?

Most rides do not have a minimum pace requirement, except for our Century distance. Riders should be comfortable maintaining a moderate pace for their chosen route and distance, around 10–12 mph.

Support vehicles sweep each route before rest stops close. Riders still on course at closing time may continue unsupported or receive a ride back to the start.

Ride Support — Rest Stops and SAG

Rest stops are typically located every 15–20 miles and include:

  • Water
  • Electrolyte drink mix
  • Fresh fruit and packaged snacks

Rest stops are designed to supplement what you bring — not replace it. Please carry your own nutrition as well. Out of courtesy to other riders, please take only what you need for the next segment.

What is SAG support?

SAG stands for Support and Gear. Support vehicles are on route throughout the ride to assist with:

  • Flat tires and minor mechanical issues
  • Basic first aid needs
  • Transport back to the start for major mechanical problems

For serious injuries, EMS will be contacted immediately.

How do I request SAG help?

All Trailnet Classics rides use the TraQ Central app for support requests. Riders can drop a GPS pin and send a message describing the issue. Our dispatch team receives your exact location and sends help quickly.

The app is free for iOS and Android. We strongly recommend downloading it before ride day.

What is TraQ Central?

TraQ Central is a free safety and support app that lets riders request mechanical or medical help with one tap. It shares your GPS location with support staff and provides ETA updates. You can also optionally share your ride progress with a family member or emergency contact.

Routes and Navigation

What is Ride with GPS?

Ride with GPS provides route maps and turn-by-turn navigation. You’ll receive your event route link before the ride. Features vary depending on your Ride with GPS subscription level.

Trailnet members receive a discount on paid subscriptions and free access to Trailnet’s Ride with GPS Club routes.

Can I download routes ahead of time?

Routes are finalized shortly before the event. You’ll receive an email when they’re ready to download. Please wait for that notice — last-minute changes sometimes occur due to construction or safety conditions.
